His Presence in the Wind

Updated: May 14, 2020

I went out unto the back porch today. It was a rainy morning and the wind was blowing gently on the leaves of the big tree in our backyard. The weather felt perfect, not too hot or too cold. As I heard the cars and train pass by, the birds chirping and the wind rustling the leaves on the tree, I felt inspired to pray.

I suddenly felt light, and didn't hear anything but the leaves and the birds..

I was staring at the leaves on the tree as they wove and it felt like someone was there listening.

As I prayed, the leaves started to increase their speed.

I remember I was praying for forgiveness of my sins, for a cleansing of my heart and for the Holy Spirit to dwell in me.

As I was closing my prayer, the wind got much stronger causing the leaves to wave faster, the wind was blowing in my face and head causing my hair to fly all over the place!

At the moment, I was smiling, thanking God for all that He does.

For all the beautiful moments as well as the trials; for the trials are what helps make me stronger, refines my character and gets me closer to having His Character!

kind, selfless, forgiving, patient, humble, trustworthy

All in all, simply, LOVE <3

The whole time, I was just watching the leaves blowing and when I finally closed my prayer,

"In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen"

the leaves slowed down, and then STOPPED...

They were still. The wind calmed down and my hair fell back into place, the car sounds came back..

and I returned to reality

I felt PEACE.

"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind....And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost" Acts 2:2,4

It's moments like these that remind me how beautiful it is to pray. What an honor it is to be able to communicate with our Creator! And how amazing it is to know that He is there, despite everything we may do right or wrong.

As the wind blew into the trees. I felt it.

It was like His presence was in the wind.

Amen.
